No matter what size yard you have-- or even if you have no yard at all -- you can accomplish great landscape designs with potted plants.

Whether you’ve moved to a new home or haven’t found the time to dig flower beds, planting in big pots can add great impact to your garden’s appeal.   Even the smallest patio, back porch, balcony or doorstep can provide enough room for a great display of color and fragrance. With a little work, a potted garden can be a stunning part of any landscape.

When designing this simple potted garden, I started with goodpotting soil, interesting pots and an upright plant or shrub.  Here, I used a column-shaped boxwood and two flats of low growing begonias.  Both of which can stand the summer heat.

Spending a little time on a potted garden can be a stunning part of any landscape. Their possibilities are never ending and anyone with a little imagination will be able to create the garden of their dreams.
